SPENDING $2.2 billion on mental health services is a big step in assisting people to live more fulfilling lives. Satisfying work is integral to this but money is only part, albeit significant, of meeting this challenge. Despite many celebrities acknowledging their mental health issues, there is still a stigma against ordinary people. Often those with mental health issues are considered irresponsible or untrustworthy and are denigrated as being weak, strange and/or dangerous. Until we eradicate these attitudes, those experiencing mental health issues will remain marginalised and on the fringe of the workplace.
