The paleo diet (“Hunting the paleo beast”, 14/12) is yet another glib attempt to entice vulnerable people to retreat to the heritage of the hunter-gatherer of the caveman epoch. But Dr Lauren Rosewarne encapsulates all the dietary advice you need in four words: eat less, move more.
It’s actually irrelevant what diet you adopt if you fail to understand the complex physiology and psychology around your own eating habits.
I embarked on many different diets in my 20s to shed weight, and finally, after a futile decade on the eating merry-go-round, decided, yes, to eat less, move more. Moderation is the key. It’s not easy to change your lifestyle, but it can work.
