Protest an unhealthy risk

The saddest irony of the Black Lives Matter protest on Saturday is that taking such dangerous risks with a massive crowd suggests, comparatively, white lives may not matter at all.

It is not just stupidity but blatant hypocrisy to allow protesters a free ride. It seems there may be two different sets of laws applicable in this instance, suggesting that perhaps the police, and the Premier, have a conscience tainted with guilt and shame about our indigenous people.

Undoubtedly, black lives matter, but so do all our lives, and it is reprehensible that authorities may have facilitated the reality of a second wave of COVID-19 to supposedly uphold a democratic principle.
