Democracy has not collapsed but there are wobbles
Greg Sheridan has outlined with some clarity the lack of accountability of Daniel Andrews, but at least he realises the Premier “is no dictator”.
It may be that the hotel quarantine management was a “fiasco”, but it is not clear it is the main cause of the latest virus crisis in Melbourne. This is supposition and opinion. Before Andrews can be blamed for the collapse of “good government” in Victoria, we need to hear the findings of the judicial inquiry.
I haven’t voted Labor, state or federally, for a few years, but hopefully when this virus resurgence has been contained Andrews, who actually acknowledged his responsibility for what’s transpiring on the ABC’s 7.30 on Wednesday night, will confront his problems in a safer and healthier state; politically, economically and socially.
